Gia spent her formative years in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in New York: Brownsville, Brooklyn. In her youth, she could be found engrossed in Marvel Comics and horror novels or watching Asian action films on television, which sparked her creativity and formed her unique writing style.
After a ten-year stint as a military intelligence professional in the US Army, she embarked on a writing career. She researched, wrote, and produced a documentary about the history of women in the military, which was accepted into the San Diego Film Festival in 2012. In 2019, she won the Writers Assistant Network Fellowship with her female-driven military action series, FET 12. She has since placed in PAGE and Shriekfest and has earned many other accolades.
Gia started out as a horror writer but has recently shifted to Asian action and K-drama. She also writes dark comedy, sci-fi, and mystery projects for TV and film.
Due to her diverse background, has many obscure talents, including tarot card reading, crime scene investigation, and an aptitude for languages; she reads both Cyrillic and Hangul and is currently learning Korean in preparation for an eventual move to South Korea.
